I have been keeping Mason Bees for 25 years, first on the lower mainland and now here in Gibsons for the past 8 years.  I was gifted 10 bees from SFU in a project to bring back the bees, and from those original 10, I now get a return of 6-800 every spring.  I’ve seen the public awareness grow over that time to include schools, community centers and groups that help each other out.

My background is in purchasing and consulting for medical equipment, and never expected to take my bee raising into retirement. With that I’ve helped set up bee houses at Roberts Creek and Madeira Park elementary schools.
