Allison Forbes of Spirit House Gardens presents: Iris: The Swiss Army Knife of Garden Design.

 Allison Forbes (Miss Ali) has been gardening in Roberts Creek for well over 25 years.  She takes much of her design inspiration from years living in Japan where iris are a feature in many gardens.  Her formative years as a commodity research analyst and later data scientist helped her understand how to research, record and link characteristics.  Ali has collected data on the more than a 1000 plants in her garden, many of them irises which she uses for plant husbandry and garden design.  More recently, she has turned her focus on seed propagation and now operates Spirithouse Gardens - a seed house focusing on unusual and native plants.  She is the incoming Board Member of the Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens, a member of their newly created native seed propagation program and an active member of numerous seed exchanges across North America.  She is also a published technical writer, most recently in the BC Council of Garden Clubs Newsletter.
