Members of the Bowen Island Garden Club will arrive by water taxi in the morning, tour 5 Gibsons gardens with a break for lunch and return by water taxi in the late afternoon. In order to be hospitable, we require a volunteer convenor to organize lunch (refreshments, fruit and desserts only - our guests will bring their own sandwiches) as well as drivers to pick them up, bring them to the gardens and drop them off at the ferry terminal.
The Gibsons Garden Club hosts monthly meetings which are open to members free of charge and to the public for a nominal fee. Club members have opportunities to participate in garden tours, both local and within Metro Vancouver, the gulf islands and Vancouver Island. Club members volunteer to care for two local public garden spaces, produce an annual education event for the public and host a popular public plant sale each spring. If you plan to attend a regular meeting of the club please wear your membership card (if you are a member), bring your own cup for refreshment break, do not wear any scents and consider bringing something garden related for the share table.
